Jordan and Barrett Elected Officers of Graduate School of Banking at LSU

John Jordan, president and CEO of The Community Bank of East Tennessee, was elected to the position of president-elect of the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University and Bradley L. Barrett, president and CEO of the Tennessee Bankers Association, was named chairman-elect by the school's board of trustees during its annual meeting in Marco Island, Florida, in October. 

Jordan will serve two years in his position and be elevated to the presidency of the school in the Fall of 2012. Likewise, Barrett will serve two years and be elevated to chairman of the school in the Fall of 2012.

The Graduate School of Banking is a professional program which has been conducted on the LSU campus for over 60 years. The school is sponsored by the bankers associations of 15 southern states, including the Tennessee Bankers Association. It is a three-year program of two-week residential sessions with over 200 hours of classroom instruction plus bank study projects.

During the 2010 session, 519 bankers from 25 states and Mexico attended, and 63 of these were from Tennessee. Since its inception in 1950, 1,563 Tennessee bankers have completed the program.
