Ashland City Banker Elected President of Independent Bankers Division

Debbie Thrash, president and CEO of Community Bank & Trust, Ashland City, is the newly elected president of the Independent Bankers Division of the Tennessee Bankers Association (TBA). Thrash was elected during the group’s annual convention held October 23 & 24 in Nashville. Approximately 140 attended the convention, which attracts community bankers from across Tennessee.

Six Honor Students Recognized; Student Wins Scholarship to Graduate School of Banking

The Southeastern School of Commercial Lending - Sixty-seven graduate from 2007 program

Sixty-seven bankers from Tennessee and four surrounding states have completed requirements for graduation from The Southeastern School of Commercial Lending (TSSCL). The Tennessee Bankers Association conducts this intensive one-week school annually at the Owen Graduate School of Management on the campus of Vanderbilt University in cooperation with the Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, and Mississippi bankers associations.

Tennessee Banks and Bankers Honored For Consumer Education Efforts - Savannah Middle School Teacher Receives Award for Teachers

The Tennessee Bankers Association (TBA) Young Bankers Division recently honored outstanding banks and bankers for excellence in educating the public about personal finance, banking, and economics through the Personal Economics Program (PEP). A total of 65 awards and certificates were announced during a special ceremony at the TBA’s 2007 Leadership Convention held April 22–24. Attached is a release describing the various awards and a complete list of winners.

Savannah Teacher Wins Financial Literacy Teacher of the Year Award

The Tennessee Bankers Association (TBA) Young Bankers Division recently honored outstanding banks and bankers for excellence in educating the public about personal finance, banking, and economics through the Personal Economics Program (PEP). A total of 65 awards and certificates were announced during a special ceremony at the TBA’s 2007 Leadership Convention held April 22–24. The winner of the Financial Literacy Teacher of the Year Award was Lisa Murphy from Hardin County Middle School. Heritage Bank & Trust, Columbia, Honored For Consumer Education Efforts

The Tennessee Bankers Association (TBA) Young Bankers Division recently honored outstanding banks and bankers for excellence in educating the public about personal finance, banking, and economics through the Personal Economics Program (PEP). Young Bankers Elect New Leadership

Delegates of the Young Bankers Division of the Tennessee Bankers Association (TBA) elected new officers and directors for 2007-08 during their annual Leadership Convention, held April 22–24 at the Perdido Beach Resort in Orange Beach, AL. The 2007 session of The Southeastern School of Consumer Credit (TSSCC) concluded in March, with 59 bankers completing requirements for graduation.

Nashville—A total of fifty bankers from across the state of Tennessee have completed requirements for graduation from the 2006 session of The Southeastern School of BankingSM (TSSB). The school was held in July at the Owen Graduate School of Management on the campus of Vanderbilt University in Nashville. The Southeastern School of Banking (TSSB) is one of the four highly respected Southeastern Schools conducted annually by the Tennessee Bankers Association.

The Southeastern School of Consumer Credit - 66 Graduate from 2006 Program

NASHVILLE—Bankers from five states have completed requirements for graduation from the 2006 session of The Southeastern School of Commercial LendingSM (TSSCL). A total of 66 bankers from Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, and Mississippi at-tended the annual program, which is held at the Owen Graduate School of Management on the Vanderbilt University campus in Nashville. The Tennessee Bankers Association (TBA) conducts the school in cooperation with the Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, and Mississippi bankers associations.
