Program Speaker: Laura Wilson, Pegasus Educational Services, LLC

A customer’s trust is a bank’s best asset! Often, the first relationship a customer establishes with the bank is a deposit account. The customer forms his/her opinion of the bank based on interaction with the new account representative. Was the employee confident and competent? Did he/she have the answers to questions asked? Was the employee able to open the account without having to constantly seek help from others in the bank? Can the employee explain what is needed at account opening and why? This seminar can help you answer “yes” to these questions.

The first portion of this program focuses on federal laws and regulations. It is designed to answer questions about the account opening process—from taking the customer’s information to signing the signature card. Seminar attendants learn how CIP, CDD, IRS, and TIN requirements; Fair Credit Reporting Act; and Regulation D affect their responsibilities at account opening. Disclosure requirements are reviewed from a compliance and customer service perspective.

NOTE: Attendants are asked to bring signature cards, account disclosures, and resolutions for review during the program.

The remainder of the day is devoted to ongoing administrative issues and Tennessee law regarding account ownership, access, and death distribution.
