Proper loan documentation and perfection of collateral are key components toward ensuring the health of the bank’s loan portfolio. Inadequate loan documentation and lien perfection contribute to significant loan losses on transactions that otherwise would be quality earning assets. In particular, errors in the loan documentation process lead to additional concerns for the lending officer and the bank when borrowers fail to pay or loans are deemed to need special servicing attention.
The purpose of this one-day workshop is to provide participants with a thorough understanding of the loan documentation process. The presentation will expose attendants to a variety of topics, pitfalls, and other considerations related to the lending process and collateral documentation.
