PEP is a national volunteer education program of bankers working with educators to teach people in their communities about banks, banking services and personal financial management, and help them take control of their finances. The Young Bankers Division of the TBA feels strongly that bankers and educators who demonstrate outstanding dedication and commitment to the ideal of financial literacy deserve to be recognized for their efforts. This is accomplished through the PEP awards program.
While most Tennessee banks are committed to financial literacy for its own merits, the PEP awards may provide an extra incentive that makes the difference between a good program and a great program. Most of these awards and certificates are presented in a special ceremony during the Young Bankers Division’s annual Leadership Convention. Below, you will find the award categories and basic criteria for qualifying for the awards.
Deadline for Report Cards
The deadline for the 2017-2018 awards is March 2, 2018, to submit all activity report cards to qualify for most of the awards presented at the Leadership Convention! The Leadership Convention dates are April 15, 16 & 17, 2018, at The Peabody Hotel, Memphis, TN.
Don’t delay! There is still time to schedule PEP presentations in order to qualify for awards, certificates, and recognition by your peers. If you have already made presentations but not reported them, be sure to get those reports in by March 2.
Within a week or two after the deadline, the TBA will notify all winners to give them ample time to make plans to attend the Leadership Convention and receive their recognition in person.
If you have questions regarding the awards and how many presentations are listed for you or your bank, please contact T'Lanie Luu, PEP coordinator and member services specialist - tluu@TNBankers.org, or telephone her at 615-244-4871 or 800-964-5525.
